David Trout Pomeroy was born a few weeks after the end of WW II in Detroit,
Michigan. Tortured throughout his childhood by two older sisters and peers
who were smarter than he was -- and remains -- he became a comedian without
portfolio. In spite of that, his career included stints in politics,
higher education, wholesale food distribution, journalism, public relations
and automotive training.
After that, he took a bath, put on a clean shirt and launched TroutPomeroy.com.
Married, with two sons, Pomeroy pounds the keyboard in a small house on an
even smaller lake in S.E. Michigan, content in the company of an excess of
dogs, cats and nascent pond life. In addition to writing, he subtracts,
translates Spanish billboards and listens to a band called Little Texas.
Author of the out-of-circulation Oakland County: Making It Work In
Michigan, Pomeroy is also responsible for a number of greater known works,
including a 36-ft. nature walk that juts off the shore of the pond. Known
officially as The Margaret Trout Pomeroy Memorial Dock, this extension in
wood and imagination is his most enduring effort.
